Best Brownie Hunt

The hunt for the perfect fudgey brownie

Growing up, my grandpa made the perfect brownies that were so fudgey, dense, and just perfection. I could eat them all day every day and just thinking about them makes my mouth water.
When he was baking he would typically start with a written recipe from a cookbook and modify it over the years until it was perfect. He never seemed to write the modified version down so the recipe only lived within him.
Unfortunately, he passed before I could get the magical brownie recipe from him and I have been chasing the perfect brownie ever since. Not a single day goes by that I do not crave a fudgey brownie but most of the time I am let down when a brownie is more on the cakey side.
I never hesitate to try to take a shortcut by using a box-mix because who doesn’t love the easier option if it brings a perfect brownie?
Come with me on the hunt for a perfect fudgey brownie recipe. If fudgey isn’t your thing, that’s okay! I expect to encounter many brownies that are delicious but not in the fudgey category and I will be sharing my thoughts on every one I try!

  • Trying Cravings’ heavenly coconut key lime cake mix

So far, everything from Cravings’ brand has been an absolute hit. They make great products, some unique and some traditional, and all of them have a good quality, flavor and correct bake times. I worry this is too good to be true because a lot of box mixes are mediocre at best and I find…
