From Tennessee to my home kitchen, it’s finally time to try out Rabbit Creek’s million dollar brownie mix. Their espresso chip cookie we tried last week was pretty good so let’s see how their other mixes compare. This particular mix is a “million dollar” brownie mix and all that means is that it contains chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips. I don’t know understand the correlation of money and various chips but let’s roll with it.

To prepare these brownies, you need melted butter, two eggs and vanilla. I really appreciate the addition of the vanilla as I feel that most baked goods can benefit from more vanilla and salt. Inside the box, the brownie mix powder is in one bag and there is a separate bag for the chips and honestly I was a bit underwhelmed with how many chips were included. Once mixed up this batter had amazing flavor and was just the kind of batter that you don’t even want to cook you would rather eat it.

The box recipe calls for an 8×8 pan so I sprayed the pan with non stick spray and poured the batter in. I felt like there wasn’t much batter and it had to be spread kind of thin so fingers crossed these aren’t thin, sad brownies. I put the pan in the oven at 350° f. The recipe calls for 25-30 minutes and at 25 minutes I found my pan of brownies cooked and ready to come out. Rabbit Creek has impressed me once again with an accurate bake time. I really wish they were sold closer to me so I could give all of their box mixes a try.

Once baked and cooled, I cut the pan of brownies into an uneven 16 brownies and they cut somewhat smoothly. The pan of brownies was not too thin like I had feared, and the brownies had a good consistency along with a really tasty flavor. For box mix brownies, these were really, really good. The right amount of fudgey and chocolatey. I will say I had multiple brownies and never got any hint of peanut butter flavor from those peanut butter chips mixed in. I also still feel like there should have been more chips mixed in. For the price tag of $9 I’m not impressed with the thin layer of batter and lack of chips. But if I found this mix at a lower price I would happily buy it again.
