I stumbled upon this mix inside of a world market and I’m excited to dip into the savory side of things. I’m picturing holiday get togethers and potlucks where you aren’t sure what to bring and this is the perfect quick option. Sticky fingers makes a really good scone mix, but their muffins were okay so hopefully the savory biscuits are one of their good mixes!

This mix is really simple, you need melted butter and milk. Once combined with the mix you have a dough. I gave it a taste and while it was pleasantly herb flavored, it seemed oddly sweet and reminded me more of a scone dough. I’m hoping this doesn’t translate into the biscuits too much.

To get 12 biscuits, I used a 3 tablespoon sized scoop and it worked pretty well. I spread the biscuits out on a baking sheet and then put it in the oven at 400°. The box calls for 13-16 minutes “or until firm and golden around the edges”. At exactly 14 minutes I found them ready to go.

Once baked, there is an optional step you can take to coat these biscuits in melted butter while they cool on the pan. I melted a couple tablespoons and brushed it on because who doesn’t love more butter? You could easily add a few herbs or seasoning into the butter during this step to enhance the flavor too.

These biscuits have a really good texture but flavor wise the herb and garlic were minimal. I did enjoy them but I think I would enjoy them more without knowing what flavor they were supposed to be. They weren’t too sweet like I was worried about and the texture was perfect so overall they were a good biscuit. I picked this mix up at world market for $5 which isn’t terrible but it isn’t great but if I found this mix at another store for a lower price I would definitely buy these again. I really do think this is a good mix for that holiday potluck where you don’t know what to bring.
