The hunt for the perfect fudgey brownie

Growing up, my grandpa made the perfect brownies that were so fudgey, dense, and just perfection. I could eat them all day every day and just thinking about them makes my mouth water.
When he was baking he would typically start with a written recipe from a cookbook and modify it over the years until it was perfect. He never seemed to write the modified version down so the recipe only lived within him.
Unfortunately, he passed before I could get the magical brownie recipe from him and I have been chasing the perfect brownie ever since. Not a single day goes by that I do not crave a fudgey brownie but most of the time I am let down when a brownie is more on the cakey side.
I never hesitate to try to take a shortcut by using a box-mix because who doesn’t love the easier option if it brings a perfect brownie?
Come with me on the hunt for a perfect fudgey brownie recipe. If fudgey isn’t your thing, that’s okay! I expect to encounter many brownies that are delicious but not in the fudgey category and I will be sharing my thoughts on every one I try!

I know of the show but haven’t seen it myself so I can’t tell you the significance of the baked goods they chose to incorporate into this product line…

Trying out Pillsbury’s Funfetti cake donut mix
A new and unique mix for donuts from Pillsbury’s Funfetti has made it to the market and I am very excited to give it a try. They make a plain donut with sprinkles, because it is funfetti of course, and they also have a pink and blue colored mix. The colors make it seem like…
